Land Rover South Africa together Land Rover worldwide are celebrating 25 years of Discovery, and in doing so have put together an awesome ‘crowd sourced’ video of Discovery owners and drivers through the generations, from the hot and sweaty jungles of the Camel Trophy winning series 1 Dicovery’s to the icy, snow covered roads of Europe in a Discovery 4.
They’re encouraging you to share your #25YearsOfDiscovery story with them on Twitter, Facebook, or YouTube. Tweet them (@LandRoverZA) your discoveries and make sure to include the hashtag.
It’s a good watch, so take a few minutes and envy all the wonderful places across the world the Land Rover Discovery has been.
Interestingly The Land Rover Discovery I was introduced into the United Kingdom in 1989. Internally Land Rover code-named the vehicle “Project Jay”. The new model was based on the chassis and drivetrain of the more upmarket Range Rover, but with a lower price aimed at a larger market segment intended to compete with Japanese offerings. The first generation Discovery was the first and only generation to be fitted with a four-cylinder petrol engine.
